Good Morning!
Thank you to Elim Park for hosting the Chamber's Annual Legislators Breakfast this morning. As always, they did a fabulous job. A special thank you to State Senators Sam Caligiuri and Tom Gaffey, and State Representatives Al Adinolfi, Mary Fritz, and Vicky Nardello for their participation. They gave a brief overview of issues in the current legislative session and answered questions from the audience.
The Chamber Leadership Cheshire Program will begin on April 3, 2008. The program will meet on Thursdays from approx. 4-6p.m. and will run until early June. The cost for the class is $500 and if you sign up before March 20th the cost will $400. There are also scholarship funds available.
CT Business Day is scheduled for March 5, 2008 in Hartford. Those interested in attending should contact the chamber for carpool information.
The Chamber Quarterly Mailing will be going out by the end of March. If you have a flyer or business news that you would like to send out, this is a great way to reach 350 business members. The cost is $50 dollars and you supply the 350 copies for us to send out.
The next issue of the Chamber Business Review Magazine is scheduled for April 1st. The theme for this issue is "energy". If you would like to place an ad or an submit an article, please call the chamber.
The 2008 Family, Home and Garden Expo will be held Saturday, April 5, 2008 at Cheshire High School from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Space is limited and businesses are encouraged to sign up to guarantee a spot. Sign up before February 29th and receive $10 discount on the booth fee. "Green" is the theme this year, promoting environmentally responsible practices! The Expo is a popular event, featuring a wide variety of exhibits/booths, entertainment, prizes and a lunch cafe. Call the Chamber if you need an application, would like to donate a door prize or for more information.
Bob deJongh of Nei Financial has donated some Executive Audio CD Book Summaries and Newsletters on various business topics. They are available at the Chamber if anyone would like to borrow them.
Kevin Murray of EarthLight Consulting is offering a 5-call teleclass series on the nature of Abundance. He will address issues of abundance in finances, relationships and wellness. For class schedules, cost, and other information, contact Kevin at 203.410.8150 or at kevin@earthandlight.com.
Chamber meetings scheduled for the week are as follows: Technology Committee, Tuesday, February 26th at 8a.m., Marketplace Committee, Tuesday February 26th at 4pm, Program Committee, Wednesday, February 27th at 12noon and Marketing Committee, Thursday February 28th at 12noon. All meetings are held in the Chamber Board Room.
